Week 5 observations

Today all sophomores were taking a writing exam this is a very important exam that the state requires and all classes were put in a stand still for two and a half hours today because there could be no switching classes as the test was being administered. Today I was only able to sit in part of a class that was being reviewed on a particular section for an impending test for the other time I was able to watch to see how a standardized test should be administered if I am ever call upon to do so.

week 4 observations

On this particular day I observed another class that were preparing resume samples to present to the principle, assistant principle and teacher in front of the class. Teh objective was for the students in three separate classes to "fight it out" to see who could get a job giving an interview and presentation scenario. The students were graded on resume clarity, powerpoint presentation illustrating what the industry that the pick does and how they can contribute to that organization or industry. The students also recieved points for their dress, clarity of thought and interview presence. This project was very interesting and I was surprisingly impressed with how well the students responded to the requirements, they did really well.

Week 3 Observations

The class that I attended today was very informative the students prestent projects that illustrated what they want to be or professions that they are the most interested in. The students were required to do some fairly intense research online as it pertained to their chosen profession and be able to present that information in front of the class. Many of the students did a very good job and they seemed to be engaged throughout all presentations. The students were required to use a system called "Prezi" a free online website that is much like the powerpoint application that we are most familiar with. I think it is wonderful there are so many free web applications out there for kids to use for projects like this. So the students all had to give their presentations using illustrations that referred to their chosen line of work as well as be able to show how well they could utilize the PREZI system.
Very good intuitive work for them all...
