Week 3 Observations

The class that I attended today was very informative the students prestent projects that illustrated what they want to be or professions that they are the most interested in. The students were required to do some fairly intense research online as it pertained to their chosen profession and be able to present that information in front of the class. Many of the students did a very good job and they seemed to be engaged throughout all presentations. The students were required to use a system called "Prezi" a free online website that is much like the powerpoint application that we are most familiar with. I think it is wonderful there are so many free web applications out there for kids to use for projects like this. So the students all had to give their presentations using illustrations that referred to their chosen line of work as well as be able to show how well they could utilize the PREZI system.
Very good intuitive work for them all...

  1. I've never heard of "Prezi" before...sounds quite accessible for those who don't have the software. I'll have to check it out. How did the teacher model how he/she wanted students to respond to presentations? Was there an assignment students were supposed to be doing while classmates presented? Just curious what the teacher's role was in all of this.
